 🚀 We believe design plays a crucial role in creating delightful customer experiences and aspire to build a world-class design team. As a first content designer at Pliant, you will be building the foundation of content design function to shape Pliant’s brand voice from within our product interfaces, writing product narratives and developing content frameworks that balance personality and delight with usability. You will be working with team members across product design, brand design, engineering, product management, and marketing, you’ll strive to understand our business goals and customers’ challenges to craft elegant flows and content design systems that help people successfully engage with our product and move through our experience with confidence.

We’re looking for design-minded writers and content strategists who care about getting to know our customers, about the nuances of language and tone, and the role of narrative in UX and product strategy.

  • Design, write, edit, test and improve the content that makes our products easier to use. This includes product flows, interface language, education materials, product names, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across Pliant products and experiences.
  • Embed into a product design team as the team’s content design expert, working with a team of product designers, product managers, and engineers to ship great product interfaces with thoughtful, usable, and delightful content.
  • Partner with our new markets and country teams as well as a pool of professional translators to ensure product experiences retains consistency and the quality in every language.
  • Maintain and refine our brand verbal guidelines to achieve a high-quality, compelling, and strategic output across all brand touch-points both internally and externally.
  • Independently and proactively identify and work on projects that span multiple teams.
  • Help shape and scale content design practice at Pliant.


  • 7 + years of experience in UX writing or product content design working with designers, engineers and product managers.
  • Experienced owning and refining brand verbal/writing guidelines.
  • Hands-on and dig in on content design needs, whether it’s rethinking information architecture, reducing friction in a flow, or developing a new messaging framework.
  • A master simplifier. You help teams fight the urge to over-explain by partnering with design to create experiences that are deceptively simple and intuitive.
  • Aware of the power of a perfectly timed pun. You know how to use punctuation to add rhythm, humour, or weight to a sentence. You have an opinion about em-dashes. Writing is your craft, and you find ways to infuse delight into the right moments to help bring our brand to life.
  • Experienced in leading projects with minimal direction and handling a large degree of ambiguity.
  • A great partner to other designers and your cross-functional teammates.
  • Open and receptive to feedback, and can adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment.
